Healthy Banana Bread Recipe

Saturday, 6 June 2015

Yay, I'm very excited to show you one of my recent favorite recipes today :-). I told you in a couple posts ago that I love healthy baking, and since my favorite green smoothie recipe (read it here!), it turned out that I actually also love photographing the whole 'project' and sharing it with you! So yes, I'm planning on sharing more health and food stuff on the blog! Hooray!
The bananabread is actually very easy to make, and the preparations won't take more than 20minutes. So let's jump right into it!

What you will need:
- 4 or 5 large bananas (I'd recommend using 5!)
- 300grams of oatmeal
- 20 dates (don't forget to remove the pit!)
- 4 teaspoons of baking powder
- 4 tablespoons of honey. (you can actually add as much as you'd like)
 - 6 tablespoons of coconut oil ( you can melt it in the microwave)
- 5 large eggs
- Optional: 3 teaspoons of chia seeds.

tip: when you're buying dates, go to a local turkish supermarket! They often sell them for way less than a regular supermarket does. (You can find turkish supermarkets often in/around the mosque.)

Start with preheating the oven up to 180degrees (celsius!!). Then mix all the ingredients together in the blender, and well that's it actually because then your mixture will be done. (p.s. you can mix the ingredients in no particular order). Now you can put the mixture into the baking tin, but don't forget to use bakingpaper to prevent the mixture from sticking to your baking tin!
Optional: if you want you can now also add some extra's on top like pumpkin seeds, but that's all up to your liking.

Put it in the oven for around 50 - 60 minutes ( you can check every now and then whether it's done already or whether it needs to stay in the oven a little longer), et voila! Your super healthy and delicious banana bread will be done! You can eat it as a snack on it's own, or eat it as breakfast/lunch with a super delicious smoothie and some fruit :-)

I hope you enjoyed & let me know if you're gonna try to make it yourself!
Hope you have a great day.

  2. Yum, ik vind bananenbrood altijd heel erg lekker! Maar ik heb het nog nooit gemaakt met chia zaadjes erin, dus ik denk dat ik dat maar eens ga proberen de volgende keer!
