" A new, modern additude to couture "
Hello! Two days ago I saw the Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2014 show and I must say, woah it's really impressive! I used to be not such a fan of haute couture, maybe because it was just more like art ( don't get me wrong, I do like art ) and not wearable or maybe it was just because I hadn't seen a Haute couture show that really impressed me. But that changed untill I saw this show.
I love how Karl designed everything so feminine with amazing colours and let not forget the unbelievably gorgeous details, but instead of heals he made all the models wear flat sporty-looking shoes. And there will definitely be a waiting list for the Chanel sneakers now, but I can't blame the people who want them, because If you've seen this show, you'd probably be longing for almost everything. He made the sneaker so much more cooler and youthful. Even though you could've already seen loads of bloggers and others running around on some nikes.
" Chanel's pastel tweed dresses with their corseted torsos and matching cropped a-line sheat tops would have looked chic in any context. The beaded, feathery evening wear - long, slenderd columns, also with little sheat tops or thight-lenght, flapper style tunics - was ravishing. But worn with trainers the collection acquired a whole new elegance. ( source

And the make-up looked also incredible, a very clean natural face with a bit of contouring along the cheekbones and  a nude lip. But then the eyes were really outstanding with a thick winged black eyeliner and sparkles underneath the eyes. I'm a fan!
Even though I thought a min point was the hairdo, I think it looked better with a different updo.

After the Spring-Summer 2014 Haute Couture show, Karl Lagerfeld brings up in his interview his motivations to shake up the codes of Couture with this collection where boleros, long dresses and sneakers are worn together.
He explains that "in the history of fashion, around 1800 to 1840 or 1845, women had flat shoes. Even with a ball gown, they had flat shoes." He adds, "it gives a new, modern attitude to Couture. The flexibility between the skirt, the top and the waist means you can move. It is not one stiff piece. Then it would be démodé."
For Karl Lagerfeld, "What is better about Couture than the feeling of now? Paradise Now." ( source )

You can watch the show above and I hope you liked this post. I'd also like the note that this is just an extra post so that's why there wasn't a day between this post and last post. Do you have any favorite runway shows or shows you really like?

write you soon.
